How you pay

One payment, or a subscription

Most mileage apps charge by the month or the year. Milometry is bought once. Neither suits everyone, so here is the difference in plain words.

One payment

You pay once, through your app store, and the cost is known on the day you buy. There is no renewal date, no card on file with us and nothing to remember to cancel. A month when you hardly drive costs nothing extra.

A subscription

You pay every month or every year for as long as you use the app, so the cost grows with time. Stop paying and you usually lose the paid features. In return, some subscriptions offer things an app on your phone does not, such as a web dashboard or accounts shared across a team.

If an employer pays for a team account, a subscription can be the better choice. The comparison pages set out what each of the other apps charges, with the date each price was checked and where it came from.

About the price

Is it really one payment?

Yes. You pay once through the App Store or Google Play, and there is no subscription or recurring charge for this app. There are no in-app purchases, no paid tiers and no adverts inside it. If we make a new, separate app one day, buying it would be your choice, and your copy of Milometry would not be switched off.

What about updates?

Updates to Milometry are included at no extra cost. While we sell it, we keep releasing updates that fix problems and keep it working on current versions of iOS and Android, and you install them from the store when you choose. Paying once is not a promise of development without end: the terms say exactly what it does mean.

Is there a free trial?

No. There is no free version and no trial. If you buy it and change your mind, refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules, and our terms explain how to ask. If the app is faulty, email us and we will put it right.

Does the price differ by country?

Yes. Apple and Google set the price in each country’s currency and show it before you buy. The price at checkout is the price you pay, including VAT or other sales tax where it applies.In the United Kingdom it is £9.99.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Yes, on the devices your Apple or Google account allows: install it on each one with the account you bought it with. A purchase on the App Store and one on Google Play are separate. Your log is stored on the device that recorded it, and there is no account of ours to copy it between them, though you can export it.
