A mileage log that just works.
Every mileage app we tried wanted a monthly subscription, an account, or a copy of everywhere we had been. Usually all three, for something that is really quite simple: note the drive, say what it was for, add it up at the right rate.
So we built Milometry. It records the journey, you sort it with a flick, and the claim keeps itself. Everything else in the app exists to serve those three things.

What does it cost?
£9.99, paid once. At 55p a mile that is 19 business miles of claim, so it pays for itself on the first proper trip. There is no subscription, no account, no tiers and nothing to cancel. It was built because every other mileage app wanted a monthly fee for something quite simple.
Where does my location data go?
Nowhere. Journeys are stored in your phone’s own storage. There is no account and no server. If you turn on syncing, exports go only to the place you choose: your phone’s own files, your cloud drive, or your own network drive.
Does it work in the background?
Yes. Recording carries on with the screen off and while you use other apps. If you swipe the app away mid-drive, Milometry tells you within a few minutes and keeps everything it recorded up to that point.
How does the mileage claim work?
Business journeys are priced at the approved rates for your country: 55p per business mile, banded to 25p past 10,000. Milometry bands each trip properly, including one that straddles a threshold. Figures are estimates, not tax advice.
Will it wreck my battery?
No. Milometry is not streaming your position constantly: it takes a fix roughly every few seconds only while a drive is actually recording, and between drives it waits on a single geofence around where you parked, which the phone handles at almost no cost. A typical day of driving costs a few per cent. If you would rather it did nothing in the background at all, turn departure detection off and press Start yourself.
Can I claim the drive to work?
Almost certainly not. Ordinary commuting (the regular journey between home and a permanent workplace) is the most common way a mileage claim goes wrong. Tag your home and your workplace in Milometry and it recognises those drives and keeps them out of the figure, while still keeping them in your records. Travelling to a temporary workplace, a client or a site is a different matter, and that usually counts.
Do I have to use it for work?
Not at all. Plenty of driving is just driving. Milometry records any journey, works out what it really cost from your own fuel economy, splits that between whoever was in the car, and shares a single drive as a PDF. A holiday can be grouped and totalled without a business mile anywhere near it.
Can I bring my history from another app?
Yes. Export a CSV from your old app or a spreadsheet, then match its columns to Milometry in the import wizard. Duplicates of trips you already have are skipped.
