Whatever starts it, points are written down as they arrive. Close the app mid-journey and Milometry notices, tells you, and offers to carry on or keep what it already has.

Siri, Shortcuts and long press
“Hey Siri, start a trip in Milometry.” On Android, long press the icon for the same three. Start, stop and log a fill-up without opening the app.
Widgets and Live Activity
Start or end a drive straight from the home screen widget, on either phone. On iPhone the Live Activity shows distance climbing on the lock screen while you drive.
Nothing gets lost
Every point is saved as it arrives. Close the app mid-drive and Milometry tells you, then offers to carry on or save what it has.
